Contact-Free Sensor to Monitor Patient Heart Rate and Respiration

Silicon Valley based BAM Labs has recently released a new, contact-free patient monitoring system. The system uses a sensor mat placed under the patient’s mattress to detect motion and provide live readings of breathing and heart rates. The data is then wirelessly sent to central servers for nurses and physicians to view on screens or handheld devices.
