Smart Underwear to Help Save Lives

Patients in hospitals may soon be equipped with all sorts of intelligent clothing, including underwear. Researchers from the University of California, San Diego School of Engineering are developing underwear with chemical-sensing printed electrodes on the waistbands. The flexible electrodes will be able to monitor biomarkers in patient sweat and tears to diagnose symptoms and administer drugs.
