Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE)

Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) is an immersive virtual reality system inside a room made of projection screens. The technology provides hi-definition 3D images of any scene including detailed views inside a human body, and the user is able to control the images with physical movements to zoom and pan through the scenes. Above is a video of Cornell Medical College’s CAVE 3D technology but the system is also currently being used in health care and at various other colleges throughout the country.
