Implantable Oxygen Generators to Fight Cancer

Researchers at Purdue University are working on developing an implantable device to treat cancer patients. The new device targets hypoxic, or oxygen-deprived tumors, and generates oxygen to amplify the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. In preliminary tests, the device is shown to be effective in treating pancreatic tumors in mice.
