Lego Custom Prosthetic Arm

It seems everyone is taking a leap into improving prosthetics these days and engineering student Max Shepherd is no exception. Shepherd has designed this custom robotic arm with 12 degrees of freedom completely from Lego components. The project’s goal was “to accurately mimic the full range of motion of a normal human arm and hand” and to “maximize speed and power.” The above elbow prosthesis is currently only able to handle a few pounds of weight but with some revamping, we may be seeing some custom Lego prosthetics in the future.
