Surgical Manipulation of a da Vinci Robot

Researchers from Johns Hopkins University push Microsoft’s Kinect 3D controller to show even more promising possibilities for future applications in health care. The gesture-based fine manipulation of a surgical tool using a Kinect 3D controller and a da Vinci robot is shown in the video. Recorded at John Hopkins University in a mock-OR, the robot is shown using surgical tools to complete various tasks guided by a scientist using the Kinect controller.
