Tear TOUCH Glucose Sensor

For the millions of people affected my diabetes mellitus, monitoring blood glucose levels is usually a painful and inconvenient process. Today, researchers from Arizona State University are developing a device to reduce this pain by using tear fluid as the sampling medium instead of blood. A quick touch to the eye is sufficient to attain a sample of tear fluid for testing. Scientists hope that this method will encourage patients to check blood sugar levels more often.
