Siemens Mobile Device to Detect Oncoming Asthma Attacks

Siemens has developed a small mobile device capable of analyzing patients’ breath and detecting nitric oxide (NO), an asthma attack marker. The device is able to tell if the patient’s air passages will become inflamed up to one day before an acute asthma attack. This allows the patient to take anti-inflammatory medication in time to prevent an attack.
