Drug Delivery Microrobots

Researchers at Georgia Tech are developing tiny drug delivery microrobots that respond to heat, light, magnetic fields and chemical changes in the environment.  In this way, scientists can propel the microrobots through a liquid to a targeted destination.  In the future, these robots may be able to deliver drugs, genes and other therapeutic payloads to destinations within a patient’s body in order to minimize the need for other invasive procedures.
