The new 7-inch Google tablet, the Nexus 7, may be the new choice tablet for some health care professionals. The new device is less than half the price of a new iPad and is also smaller and more lightweight. The tablet fits easily into the pocket of a white coat and still comes with a quad-core processor and works with many of the essential medical apps including Medscape, Epocrates, and Micromedex. Though the iPad offers many more options for apps than the Nexus 7, the price and portability may push users towards the Nexus 7.
