Doctors Grow New Ear on Cancer Victim’s Arm

Doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland have helped cancer victim Sherrie Walter regrow her ear using a groundbreaking procedure.  With cartilage from Walter’s ribcage, doctors formed the new ear and then placed it under the skin on her forearm to grow.  The ear grew on her arm for approximately four months before it was removed, sculpted and attached.  The new ear will take the place of her original ear that was partially lost due to basal cell cancer.
