The Symbionic Leg from Ossur is the first complete bionic leg available for above-the-knee amputees. The leg combines a powered ankle and an adaptive microprocessor knee joint to cater to transfemoral amputees. The prosthetic also includes stumble recovery and active toe lift to reduce likelihood of falls. The ankle on the leg is able to adjust according to the steepness of the terrain to help users in ascending and descending ramps. Heel height adjustment allows users to change between different shoes or even go barefoot without compromising the alignment of the prosthesis.
