Robot that mirrors human emotions

Researchers at Technische Universitat Munchen looked at the effects of emotional mirroring in robots on humans. In the study presented at the IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, the researchers show that humans respond more positively to robots that are able to adjust emotions based on the emotions exhibited in the human. Humans responded more positively to robots that mirrored emotions than those that did not. The video above shows the robot, Eddie, interacting with a user.
