Polymer Multilayer Tattoo to Deliver DNA Vaccines

dnavaccineDNA vaccines, though currently difficult and painful to deliver, may help combat HIV and other viral infections.  MIT researchers are developing a skin patch they call a “multilayer tattoo” that will be able to deliver DNA vaccines safely and painlessly using polymer film.  The DNA vaccines administered through the multilayer tattoo caused immune responses against a model HIV antigen similar to traditional electroporation in mice.
