Touch of a Button Disease Diagnosis

pcrResearchers from Caltech are developing a cheap, portable disease diagnosis device for use in remote parts of the world. The new polymerase chain reaction (PCR) device is an easy-to-use option for detecting HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other diseases in areas that do not have good healthcare facilities. The device is powered by a small rechargeable battery and includes a chip for easy access to data. It is small enough to be carried in a backpack and is simple to operate.
