uBot-5 Provides Help for the Elderly, Speech and Physical Therapies for Stroke Patients

medical-robotUniversity of Massachusetts Amherst researchers have enlisted the uBot-5 humanoid robot to provide speech and physical therapy for stroke patients. Using word-retrieval games, arm exercises and other engaging therapy methods, researchers noted significant gains in speech and physical ability. Researchers have reported increased patient engagement with the uBot-5 when compared to traditional exercise machines. In addition, researchers are experimenting with having these robots provide aid to the elderly.
