Unimo Electric Wheelchair for Hospitals

Nano-Optonics Energy from Japan has released the Unimo one-seat electric vehicle (EV). The new wheelchair is designed to look like a sofa and be used in hospitals and care facilities. The vehicle uses rubber crawler tracks instead of standard wheel but can spin 360 degrees in small spaces like elevator cars. Additionally, the EV can climb over steps approximately 15cm in height while conventional wheelchairs can only climb over 8cm steps. The Unimo vehicle can assist users in getting on and off by lifting and tilting the seat to a 30 degree angle. Like other electric wheelchairs, the Unimo is operated using a small joystick.
