Ambulances in Ecuador Take Over Car Radios

In Ecuador, ambulances are equipped with AM/FM radio transmitters and antennas allowing drivers to communicate with other cars on the road via the radio. Any person listening to the radio in the vicinity will hear the ambulance driver’s voice, which overpowers the radio station broadcast. Even if a driver is blasting music, this technology effectively helps to clear the road in front of the ambulance and allows emergency personnel to reach a destination more quickly.
