3D Printed Bionic Ear

Scientists from Princeton University have created a working bionic ear using a 3D printer, bovine cells, silver particles and a petri dish. The 3D printer is programmed to shape the cell material into an ear and the silver particles into an antenna-like coil within the ear. Once printed, the bionic ear can pick up radio signals using the embedded antenna. Currently, the ear is not designed to replace human ears, however, the technology shows a successful combination of electronics and biological material.
