Wearable Sensor Detects Goosebumps

goosebumps-sensorResearchers at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have developed a postage stamp-sized sensor that adheres to skin and can detect goosebumps. The flexible polymer material detects changes in the flat surface of the electronic sensor and the relative loss of capacitance that follows. At a time when more and more consumers want devices which can track every aspect of health and fitness, a sensor which can measure goosebumps (usually associated with a drop in body temperature, anxiety or fear) can prove to be both  attractive and helpful. Moving forward, the research team is planning to make the device smaller and less obstructive before considering marketing capabilities.
